Are you an LGBTQ+ undergraduate interested in Business? Apply to the Out for Undergrad Business conference and join us for a weekend of education, opportunity, and inspiration!
O4U holds an annual conference for LGBTQ+ undergraduates who are interested in pursuing careers in business. Students learn about careers in their field of choice, meet mentors who are LGBTQ+ professionals in that field, build a supportive professional network, and connect with top employers in business, such as Goldman Sachs, BCG, EY, Microsoft, and more!
To be eligible, attendees must 1) be a current undergraduate student at a college/university and 2) self-identify as LGBTQ+

Lunch and Learn Recap: Authenticity in the Job Search
On Tuesday, November 17th, we had our Authenticity in the Job Search Lunch & Learn! We were so excited to have the following professionals join us for this Lunch & Learn:
- Dr. Natasha Randle (Director of the Belk Scholars and Business Honors Programs and a Clinical Professor in the Belk College of Business)
- Dr. Janaki Gooty (Associate Professor of Management in the Belk College of Business)
- Camille Stuart (HR Business Partner for SPX Flow)
- Mitchelle Lyle (Senior Purchasing Manager for SPX Flow)
During this event, participants received advice on how to best showcase their identity during a job interview and how to make the best first impression possible when meeting with recruiters. Panelists also spoke about how to stand out in the virtual environment while also maintaining academic obligations.

Lunch and Learn: Recap

On Wednesday, October 14th, the Niblock Student Center hosted Thomas Guier. Thomas majored in Operations & Supply Chain Management at North Carolina State University. Following graduation, Thomas has held many roles at Target and currently serves as a Senior Operations Manager at Target.
Throughout this Lunch & Learn, Thomas spoke about how COVID-19 has impacted the overall operations of Target and how the distribution center in Newton, NC has been able to keep up with the inevitable demand of a pandemic. Students also had the opportunity to ask Thomas about Target’s internship program and gain perspective about a career in operations and supply chain management.
Thomas, thank you so much for your time and insight regarding this relevant topic in today’s time!

It’s All About Management
On Wednesday, February 26th, the Niblock Student Center held the “It’s All About Management” event. During this event, Gerald Burgess, a UNCC Alum, spoke to students regarding his experience as an undergraduate student at UNC Charlotte, how his career path has evolved, and his experience thus far with pursuing an MBA at UNC Charlotte.
While at UNCC, Burgess majored in Management and International Business. He is currently working as a certified Project Management Professional and the Director of Strategic Sourcing at JLL. JLL is a commercial real estate company in Charlotte. Burgess says his primary advice for students includes learning another language, studying abroad, as well as internship experience. Throughout his time at UNC Charlotte, Burgess had the opportunity to do all of these mentioned, and he believes it played a huge role in his professional and personal development.
