Paid, Commercial Real Estate Internship Opportunity open to All Majors

We wanted to make you aware of a paid, Commercial Real Estate Virtual Internship Opportunity with Project Destined Charlotte in Fall 2021.

Project Destined, founded by a former Carlyle Group executive, has partnered with 50+ leading real estate firms and 60+ universities around the country to provide diverse students with internship opportunities to explore ownership through live real estate deals. The 8-week Paid, Virtual Internship Program will launch in Charlotte in September in partnership with JLL and Lincoln Harris.

As part of the program, interns will work 4 to 6 hours per week including real estate training, a bi-weekly Executive Speaker Series, and competing with students from 40+ universities in “Shark Tank” style live deal pitch competitions.

Pick UNC Charlotte Recap

In partnership with the Office of Admissions, Niblock Student Center staff spent June 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th on campus speaking with admitted freshman and transfer students.

Academic and Career Coaches were there to answer any questions about class schedules, transfer work, and major choices while members of the Professional Development team talked about special clubs like the Business Learning Community, internship options, and career events.

Students could also check out the Friday building and get lots of Belk College swag!

Explore the Many Resources of the J. Murrey Atkins Library

 The J. Murrey Atkins Library can assist you in your studies and help you explore new technologies. Angel Truesdale, Business Librarian, can help you conduct business research, navigate through confusing business databases, and share how to access business news. Traverse through the financials of Fortune 500 companies, learn about various industry and market trends, and discover the unique citation methods for business resources. Withdrawal Policy Change

 

WITHDRAWAL POLICY CHANGES

Beginning this summer (May 24, 2021), withdrawals from undergraduate classes will again be subject to the W-Limit policy, which restricts undergraduate students to receiving a grade of W for no more than 16 credit hours during their time at UNC Charlotte.

During spring 2020, fall 2020, and spring 2021, all course withdrawals were considered WE grades (Withdrawal for Extenuating Circumstances) because of modified policy due to COVID-19. That will no longer be the case going forward. Undergraduate students who withdraw from a course will receive a grade of W, and students will once again be held to the 16 credit hour limit.  

Students who need to withdraw due to extenuating circumstances should submit a request through the Student Assistance & Support Services (SASS) Office located in King 118.

How to Elect Pass/No Credit for Spring 2021

Spring 2021 Pass/No Credit Elections are live! You must submit your requests by June 1st!

To do so: Log into Banner Self Service, Click Student Services/Student Accounts; Student Records; Pass/No Credit Grading Request--- Follow prompts for course selection and submit

The change is automatic and will be reflected on your student advising transcript immediately.

Pass/No Credit grades do NOT count in your GPA! Business pre-requisite courses (progression, core, and some others) must be completed with a C or above. Students electing Pass/No Credit for C or above grades will be designated as H grades to allow progression into other classes.

Year 2 of the Peer Guide Program is Complete!

The Peer Guides wrapped up the academic year with presenting their professional development experiences to the Professional Development Team and participating in a virtual escape room!

Although the Peer Guides have been virtual throughout the 2020-2021 academic year, they have made a huge impact within the Niblock Student Center. The Peer Guides connected with students during Lunch & Learns, Peer Talks, mentee meetings, and Peer Connections for Success (in collaboration with the Peer Advisors).
