AMA (4 BCOB students and advisor Cindy Fox) recently traveled to Chicago, Illinois for the 44th International Collegiate American Marketing Association. This being the first in-person conference after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Members were able to connect with 700 other college students from across the nation including Puerto Rico, speak with sponsors like ADP, Sherwin Williams, Marketplace Simulations, and Comcast Xfinity, and learned from keynote speakers such as the DEI superstar Roy Broderick Jr. and Global Head of B2B Marketing for TikTok, Carly Zipp Garbis.
During the conference students were able to partake in Skill-Up Stations and learn from other AMA Chapter Leaders through Chapter Leadership sessions focused on Professional Development, Fundraising, Membership, Community & Social Impact, Communication, and E-Board Leadership/Chapter Planning to learn on how to grow and improve our AMA Chapter at Charlotte.
UNC Charlotte entered many different competitions that focused on each of its members strengths and skills. Those competitions consisted of Marketing Strategy, Perfect-Pitch, Sales Pitch, and Chapter Plan. Out of all of the Chapters nationwide the University of North Carolina at Charlotte had the honor and privilege to take home the Outstanding in One Category: Chapter Planning award.
