Talent Connect 2018

Talent Connect 2018 (August 9-11, 2018) is a 3 day workforce matching initiative developed by the Northeast Tennessee Regional Economic Partnership in conjunction with a number of employers. The program is designed to familiarize college students from around the Southeast United States with the Johnson City Tennessee area, its top employers, and the limitless career paths available in the area.

This is a great opportunity for current students and recent graduates to weigh their options with new job opportunities and to explore life as a young professional in the Johnson City, Tennessee area.  Participating companies have included those such as NN, Inc., General Shale, Nuclear Fuel Services, Snap-On, Dentsply-Sirona, and many more. The event includes walking tours, outdoor activities, receptions, company meetings, live music and the opportunity to interact with key company executives. Things start on Thursday with a welcome reception and then a culinary tour of downtown Johnson City. Friday is Employer Day, which includes company visits/tours followed by an excursion downtown for the Little Chicago Festival and live music. Saturday is One-on-One with employers followed by an outdoor activity in the afternoon (rafting, hiking, biking). The event concludes on Sunday morning.

This opportunity is open to juniors, seniors, and grad students who are studying in the fields of Business and Finance, and Engineering:  mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, industrial engineering, supply chain management, nuclear engineering, chemical engineering, logistics, electrical engineering, etc.

Last year’s event hosted college students from a variety of colleges and universities in the southeast including:  East Tennessee State University, University of South Carolina, University of Tennessee, Clemson, Tennessee Tech, Virginia Tech, and Morehead State.

The event is totally free to participants: meals, lodging, etc. are all included.  The participants are responsible for their own incidentals. Participants receive a gift card to help offset cost of travel to and from Johnson City.
