Operations Students Visit Target Distribution Center

This past week, a group of students majoring in Operations & Supply Chain Management (OSCM) visited the Target Distribution Center in Newton, NC. Dr. Moutaz Khouja regularly organizes and leads this trip, and local APICS members and other Belk College faculty joined the students on their visit.

Two managers at the Distribution Center took the students on a tour of their 1.8 million square foot center, which receives, stores, and distributes hundreds of thousands of products to 89 stores. They provided insight into store operations as well as the role of an operations manager, a popular entry-level position for new graduates in the OSCM major.

If you're curious about OSCM, check out our Queen City Career Guide to learn more about this dynamic and in-demand career field.
