Are You Thinking About Next Summer Already?
You should be!
You may not know this, but internships for Summer 2022 at some area employers are already open for applications. Now is the time to update your resume and LinkedIn, brush up on interviewing skills, and check Hire A Niner regularly if you are interested in applying to these internship programs.
How can you prepare?
- The Career Guide and the Niblock Student Center 24/7 Resources have great resume resources
- Whether you are starting your LinkedIn or looking to become more active on LinkedIn, we have resources to help
- Big Interview is a platform where you can practice interviewing, build interview answers, and find questions specific to your area of interest
Is all internship recruiting done in the fall?
- Competitive internship programs within large organizations do most of their internship recruiting in the fall, which has led to many employers posting at this time so that they can recruit top talent
- These programs are often designed for students between their junior and senior year (but not exclusively)
- Hire A Niner if you do not have alerts set up already, this can be a great tool. To do this, click the bell in the top right of your account, and adjust your emails and notifications
- Identify top companies that you are interested in and check in on their websites regularly
- Business students who have declared their upper-level major can pursue internship for academic credit within the Belk College. More information can be found here.
- If you are really interested in a position or company, make sure you interact with them. Attend an information session if they're hosting one, participate in a Career Center Meet-Up they're leading, join virtual events hosted by the company. This participation can help to show your interest and help you stand out.
