American Marketing Association Interest Meeting
We hope your semester is off to a great start! We're so excited to kick-off our AMA semester next week!
Our first meeting/interest meeting is TUESDAY, September 3rd from 5-6:15PMin Friday BLDG Room 155.
Whether you are returning to us after a great summer, curious about our organization, or heard about us from AMA members or professors, we would love to have you come out and learn more about AMA and how we can benefit you at UNCC and beyond!
September 3rd's dress code: casual.
Some frequently asked questions:
I have class until 5:15PM or at 5:30PM, can I still join? ABSOLUTELY. We have some members that have night classes, and we totally understand. There are other events you can participate in if class is an issue, but feel free to come for the first or last bit of meetings!
How often does AMA meet? We meet every other Tuesday for general body meetings, speakers, and professional events.
Is there a membership fee? There is a $15 semester fee to pay for events and networking nights. We will discuss more about membership responsibilities on Tuesday.

Lunch & Learn: The Power of Persuasion
Sign up today for Wednesday's Niblock Student Center Lunch & Learn: The Power of Persuasion. Peter Senick of AXA Advisors will join us to talk about the Power of Persuasion, which is something that is relevant to any major as you learn to talk about your ideas and accomplishments, secure resources, and bring people together. UNC Charlotte Real Estate Club Interest Meeting
We have exciting news! The UNC Charlotte Real Estate Club is accepting new members. The club offers insight into the industry of real estate allowing you to become a more rounded individual in your future endeavors. The club will be actively involved with Uptown Charlotte site visits, guest speakers, and social events. The club also looks for real estate internships for members within the Charlotte area and other U.S major markets. If you have ever had an interest in real estate then the UNCC Real Estate Club is a great opportunity for you! The club will have an interest meeting Wednesday, September 4th at 6 pm, in Friday 155. The event will be business casual.

An introductory course designed to provide talented undergraduate students, particularly from under-represented groups, opportunities to explore various aspects of graduate education. Students participate in instructional sessions designed to provide an overview of graduate education while exploring academic disciplines of interest in more detail. Students develop an admissions application and statement of purpose.

New Concentration: FINANCE with REAL ESTATE!

A new concentration is now available within the Finance major starting Fall 2019! Students who choose this concentration will gain fundamental knowledge and skills to analyze and negotiate commercial real estate.
The curriculum incorporates concepts such as architecture, economics, finance, and geography to highlight the collaborative nature of the real estate industry. Faculty will incorporate theory as well as real world application to allow students to address trends and issues within the industry.
In addition to the required business core classes, students pursuing this concentration will complete:
- FINN 3222 - Investments (3)
- FINN 3226 - Financial Theory and Practice (3)
- FINN 3255 - Real Estate Principles (3)
- FINN 3261 - Real Estate Finance (3)
- FINN 3265 - Asset and Property Management (3)
- And one restricted elective course (3)
Students who study this concentration can expect to find careers in property management, asset management, urban planning, and land development, as well as related areas such as finance, and investments!
