PhD Project Opportunity for BCOB undergraduates and Master’s students

UNCC is a member school for the PhD Project.  The PhD Project was founded upon the premise that advancements in workplace diversity could be propelled forward by increasing the diversity of business school faculty. The flagship event for The PhD Project is a 2-day annual conference for potential doctoral students. At this conference, students can network with doctoral students, business school representatives, professors and sponsor organizations.  The conference is Nov 16-18 this year.  More information is here: http://www.phdproject.org/en/become-a-professor/annual-conference

Students must apply to attend.  However, if selected to attend the conference, they will only have to pay a $200 registration fee which will be processed via credit card during the registration process. All travel and conference expenses -- valued at $1,500 per invited attendee for hotel, meals, materials and transportation to Chicago (domestic air travel only)-- will be paid by The PhD Project. This includes a hotel room to be shared with another participant for the two nights during the conference.
To be eligible to apply to the annual conference, you must be: 1) African-American, Hispanic-American or Native American, 2) A U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident, 3) In your senior year of college by the time you attend the conference or already possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree.  The application deadline is September 30, 2016 at 12:00 midnight.
