The Belk College of Business Learning Community spent Friday, September 30th in uptown, touring the city of Charlotte. The students learned about the history of the city and what future plans the light rail will bring to the uptown area during a two-hour walking tour with a native Charlottean. Then the group headed to Mellow Mushroom for lunch and had some down time at Romare Bearden Park where we met the Charlotte Knights mascot, Homer! We spent the afternoon touring the Panthers Stadium and learning about the history of the team, the owner and the spirit behind the Carolina Panthers. Overall it was a great day for students to learn more about their new home in Charlotte and the opportunities that uptown offers!
