Lunch and Learn: Recap

On Wednesday, August 28, the Niblock Student Center welcomed Peter Senick (’06) to host a Lunch and Learn on the Power of Persuasion. Peter is a Regional Vice President and Director of Retirement Benefits at AXA Advisors. One of the main takeaways is that persuasion is a tool that should be used for genuine, honest, positive purposes. Using persuasion as a form of trickery will not help you succeed in business and in life.

Peter introduced attendees to Robert Cialdini’s six principles of influence that will help you persuade others. Those are: 1) reciprocity, 2) consistency, 3) social proof, 4) liking, 5) authority, and 6) scarcity.

We hope you’ll join us for our next Lunch and Learn focused on Standing Out in Your Job Applications. This event is hosted by Sherpa, a local staffing agency in Charlotte. You’ll have an opportunity to learn from recruiters across all business industries what makes job applicants stand out.

Transient Study-- Getting Your Coursework back to UNCC

Did you take a course  at a community college or other institution this summer? If so, follow these steps to make sure your credits are transferred appropriately.
Once your grade is finalized and on record, request a transcript from your host institution. You will need to work with the host institution to do so. Typically, you can pick a transcript up in person and hand deliver to the UNCC Registrar's Office OR you can have it sent through mail/email. Keep in mind the delays/time that could come with processing from the host institution and mail carriers.
The Registrar's Office will match your received transient transcript with your transient study form and add your coursework to your record. This will be reflected on your advising transcript. Once the Registrar's Office receives your transcript, it can take 8-10 days to update to your advising transcript. Please be patient!
Continually check your advising transcript for the update-- you and your Academic and Career Coach may not be notified.
To view your advising transcript:
Log into my.uncc.edu and go to banner self service; click student services/student accounts; click student records; click advising transcript; click display transcript; check if transient courses have been added
*You cannot add Fall courses (in which the summer transient course was a pre-requisite) until it appears on your advising transcript.*
Questions about transcripts or credit? Contact Niner Central.
Questions about the transient study form and what classes to take? Contact your Academic and Career Coach.
