The CEO Speaker Series features alumni of UNC Charlotte who are in leadership positions at their respective companies. As a student, the CEO Speaker Series is a great way to interact with business leaders who have made an impact in their own unique way. Furthermore, during this event, speakers convey the mission of their company and how it is playing an active role in the community. When students are actively in pursuit of an internship or full time job, it can be very helpful to keep the company’s goals in mind and to see how these align with personal career objectives.
This event can also be an excellent way to motivate students about post-grad life. For example, in the latest CEO Speaker Series, Dontá Wilson from Truist spoke about how finding passion is one of the most important parts of your personal and professional journey. Often times, students may pick a certain career path due to the motivation of salary and in the midst of this, they can forget their true passions. Hearing about how you can make your passion into a career is not only motivating, but inspires students to reflect on what they truly enjoy, and how they can make this into their full time job.
